Forty feet below, two million pounds are buried." This cryptic inscription on a stone uncovered at the 100-foot level of the Oak Island "money pit" has kept treasure hunters digging for almost 200 years. Over the centuries, Oak Island, which lies just off the coast of Nova Scotia, has gobbled up the resources and lives of many men without producing a single doubloon. Designed by some ancient engineer, the pit is a complex hole with timber crosspieces every 10 feet. Near the 100-foot level, any attempt to break through brings the Atlantic Ocean rushing in. So far, all efforts to solve the puzzle of the protective design have failed. Even using the most modern technology, no one has been able to get through to those two million pounds... 50 billion dollars! Who built it and why? Some surprising answers in this video! • I don't think it's gold or anything of value couse if it was valuable the person who built it would want to be able to dig it back up.... This is almost impossible u need a diving crew wid pick axes tht wouldn't work so what's ever down the pit I think is a weapon of some sort ie apple of Eden

  • if sir francis bacon is shakespeare that would be the most badass guy to have ever lived period to pull something like that

  • people bury treasure with the intention of coming back to claim it at a later date. the measures taken here indicate several lines of defense against whatever is down there ever seeing the light of day again. i think it would be wise to let whatever is down there stay down there

  • Why the fuck would anyone build such an enormous contraption???

  • @Evilenterprizez National Treasure 3 is coming in 2012 lol :)

  • Whatever is down there... is must very, very powerful.

  • @longhairedfooljim i would think that was correct except for what lies beyond the iron plate.

  • or the templar refugee fleet, 1308?

  • henry sinclair.1418?

  • I think that the fantastic challenge that this sink represents makes engineers, scientists, etc. really happy.
