On September 11, 2008 economist Jeffrey Sachs presented his findings on how unaddressed environmental and economic disparity inevitably becomes a source of ethnic conflict and tension in a increasingly globalized word. He helped Harvard Law students deepen their understanding of the connection between policy and security, the need for scientific literacy while urging them to apply their skills to the support of international treaties and alleviation of the word's greater social problems.

  • sad to see no comments here yet...seems more such wake-ups are needed...thanks to jeffrey sachs for his attempts to get us all to focus more on these vital issues...he and others are ringing the alarm bells...and rightfully so...question is how to get everyone to hear the shrill of the ring and feel compelled enough to empathize and (collaboratively) act to bring about positive change...
