I have been runnibg this in the back of my truck sice early in the year.DMV Fla. statute 316.2397 states that it cannot be an amber or red flashing light that can be viewed from the front of the vehicle so as to cause the vehicle in front to be distracted from the road, as in an emergency situation or alerted from police or rescue vehicles. This sign is for business purposes only. You should check your own states regulations before purcahse.

Is this "road-legal"? I would be wary of getting ticketed with this on the back of my car.

This is road legal. I have been displaying mine in my window for over a month now, and one officer advised against flashing lites. No ticket. As long as you don't use flashing lites, it's not a problem. No different than the LED messages being displayed on the highways already. I would caution against using derogatory messages, an officer can always find a reason to stop you. I have done displays for the Fraternal Order of Police here in Jacksonville.
