@kybrdwzrd and labour were inalienable. His attacks on capitalism stem from the fact that labourers had been forced to alienate their property in capitalist society and their labour was being exploited by capitalists.
Communitarian ideologies go back to New Testament times. Read Acts with its all things in common ideologies. There were communitarian ideologies during the English Revolution (Diggers), in Great Britain and France among Owenites and Fourierists.

@kybrdwzrd Liberalism stems from Republicanism (as in Florence) and the Enlightenment. There were a variety of different ideologies that characterised the Enlightenment including atheism, laissez faire capitalism (a reaction to monopoly capitalism), republicanism, golden age utopianism, science. Marx, of course, was part of the second wave of the Enlightenment and was heavily influenced by John Locke, with whom he shared the notions that your labour created your property and that property
