@12gage12 Its got 205,000+ on it now. Still cranking right along! Its all about how they are maintained. Any car that is...

I am suprised the plug did not vaporize being that old, you must have taken good care of your vehicle.

So why wait so long to change? And why the F-bombs and S bombs. Young children might be watching!

Changing the plugs on my 1995 Crown Victoria tomorrow and I'm betting they'll look alot like these. The car has 135k miles on it and I have a sinking feeling that the plugs in it now are the OEM ones from '95.

@STFpolice1 how much is 24,000 kilometers in American language fuck that euro metric bullshit
-
Christ, you're lucky you even got them out of the head after that long...

most new cars that use electronic injection, the computer will try an compensate for any offsets in ignition timing. So you will not feel that your sparks are off firing. but it will adversely effect your fuel consumption and efficiency of the engine. its always a good idea to change spark plugs every 24,000 kms or 24 months.

holy shit lol

@raptorms Must be an old camera if it can't focus on stuff that close.

your camera is a piece of shit it aint hard to tell
Are those double platinum or iridium plugs? You NEED to use either double platinum or iridium plugs with distributorless ignitions with waste spark (only half the coil packs per cylinders; ie 6 cyl = 3 coil packs). DIS waste spark plugs need to fire backwards on the exhaust stroke. If you use the an incompatible plug it will widen the gap. No option but to use double platinum or iridium.

@wc4pwned They were factory Platinum plugs. I replaced them with the same kind.

thats exactly what the plugs looked like in my 92 ford f150 straight 6 looked like when i replaced them. it had around 160k miles. previous owners probably didn't take care of it since it was just a work truck.

@CountyFarm1 The Iridium plugs are actually designed to last a minimum of 100,000 miles prior to changing them. These modern engines run so my cleaner than the old carb engines. They would last longer if the EGR system didnt exist and kept pumping dirty exhaust fumes back into the plenum for reburn. That black sooty gunk causes a ton of headaches for sensors and air passages. Wish there was a better answer.

How was it doing the rear plugs?
Did you have to remove the plenum?
Thanks

@TRcustomengineering I did remove the plenum but apparently you can remove the heater vent cowling and rubber seal and the plastic piece beneath the wipers lifts off giving access to the rear plugs. I wanted to take the plenum off anyway to clean it out. Thats in my other "Repairs Finally....." video in my playlist. It wasnt that bad. Just keep track of wires and hoses etc.
