It doesn't seem to me that he meant anything racial in that statement. He seems to be referring to the color of the cars.
Like some of the commenters here stated, I'm not too fond of Bangle's designs for BMW either. I still prefer the classic BMW design of straight lines and slightly boxy shape. Speaking of "white power", I love my alpine white E38, and I'm not white.

and what could he possibly mean by white power. were the cars even painted white?
he certainly strikes me as a douche, maybe gay, maybe satanic freemason, but I trust he would not blatantly express white supremacy?

I didn't get the sense he meant anything prejudicial, although I wonder if he thought 5 seconds after the interview, "Maybe I should have bounced that line past a friend first?" Those are 3 words BMW really does NOT want connected further with their brand.

The "white power" refers to the white-painted M cars that are lined up at the show! Do you read English? I love my white BMW, and I am not a white.

when he said "white", he meant RGB, CMYK, WHITE.
Nothing political.
M cars in that convention was painted white.

Bangle has been chief designer at BMW since 1992 (the year BMW design started sucking) and divides his time between Munich and his native USA.

People really have blown this out of text. Im African American (also a designer) and didnt get anything racially from his interview. He said "white power" as in the cars are white and powerful. There was nothing racial about his statement. Grop up folks.
