This is from the 2nd game of the 1974 Cup Finals between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Boston Bruins. To have any chance to win the Cup, the Flyers had to win at least 1 game in the Boston Garden-- which they hadn't done in 7 years. The rest is history, with one of the greatest goals and playcalls in Flyers history.

  • I'm a devoted Habs fan but I've got to say this.Everybody refers to these Flyer teams as bullies and all that. But,things is,these early 70's Flyers teams had some serious talent,Leach,Clarke,MaCliesh,Barber and parent.Combine that with a torrid work ethic and a sound defensive system and you've got chamionships

  • wow, what a call. gene hart is the greatest.

  • gotta love the broadstreet bullies

  • @slappy2X the voice was the best!! ....what a great call...i was at boston garden before...and that place was soooo steep...when you hear don earle "interrupting" gene...it's because his headset was falling off...when you stood up at the garden it felt like your body was leaning foward....it was that steep.....

  • what a great call by the voice!!..gene hart was awesome...!! nobody will ever come close

  • I'm watching the final game of that 1974 series on classic NHL. The only game I have ever seen where Bobby Orr is such a non factor, he must be hurting because the previous game Barber gave a vicious knee on knee attack that left Orr on the ice.

Orr must have been on the ice for 45 minutes.

  • @wrappindude unfortunately the flyers seem to be unable to get a hold on a sound defensive group of players.

  • @TheBlueDevilz I didnt get to here him in my life personally but i watch clips and he sounded amazing. But atleast we have JJ

  • @vcasalnova gene hart lost his head set on that goal..that's why i think earle jumped in there...boston garden was very very steep...

  • wtf...clarke with schultz and flett?? talk about protection for a star player

  • @TheBlueDevilz Gene Hart was my idol....loved that guy!!

  • @wrappindude glad someone's actually smart enough to see that. now you're a true hcokey fan bud.BULLIES!
