Someone once said to me Bad Religion sounds like every other punk band. I told him every other punk band sounds like Bad Religion.

People seem to troll songs to project their agenda's. Song rips. Politics elsewhere.

"Plagiarized" was a joke. There's an entire conversation on here.

They are Bad Religion, their whole "thing" as a band is pointing out the problems caused by religion for our species, so it's not like they would need help from a lyrically tongue-in-cheek act like ST. You are only speculating about when this song was written. It MIGHT have been written when Greg was 12 and sitting in a bus station next to a drunk Vietnam vet, eating a corn-dog, OR it might have been new when it was released.

Bad Religion was formed in '79 and I'm sure this song was written before the year it was released. I really doubt they "plagiarized" ST.

Two years actually. The first ST *album* was '83, BUT they were circulating a short demo with institutionalized and send me your money and a few other songs that I can't remember way before they got signed and actually made an album. My sister had a copy and that's where I first heard them. I was a little kid and by the time I heard it, they were already pretty big, but she got the demo in 1981, and yes I know wikipedia claims ST formed in 83, but it's not true...Oh, looks like wiki was updated.

This album was released a year before the Suicidal Tendencies first album.

It's funny, 'cause neither of those are true. Bad Religion has one of the most distinguishable sounds in punk. throughout their entire existence.
