Using a DIY air cannon inflated with a bike pump to create a practical, safe and realistic explosion!! The parts for this can be brought from a local plumbers' store and cost less than $60, these were used in our Zombie Action Movie available on youtube for free - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwPlTYjCQWA

To find out how to make these air cannons and many more action tutorials check out our latest project on Kickstarter - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/realmpictures/explore-the-underwater-realm

  • Great stuff guys :)

  • that was awesome when you removed the letterbox and the color correction. Nice vid! :D

  • Awesome! But how did you do the audio as he fell on the floor? That was great!!!

  • Awesome:)

  • I am making my own full length zombie movie. This may come in handy.

  • Done and done! I've been watching since zomblies first started being developed, I saw the post over on FXhome and have been a supporter since. I just wish I had more money to donate, because I'd love to be an early backer of the trilogy, that'd would be amazing!

  • $50! pahahaha never...

  • SO using this in my next short at uni.

  • Nice breakdown!

  • Great work and info. I'm a big fan of mechanical and special effects. Like you said there is definitely a time for digital but there is a touchable feel to in-camera effects that I think digital will never capture.
