  • Out of all that alteration I still have pretty keen ears and pick up on the sample. Studios had a different sound than the studios have now. Which is why you have to in many ways use old recording equipment and everything to achieve a truly authentic old-school analog sound.

  • The lines between music and musical instruments are so blured now. Whats the difference between taking a guitar and recording it, and using a piece of music and playing it in an inovative way. Should Fender get paid everytime somebody makes music with one of their guitars?

  • Sampling is a fundamental part of hip hop.

  • I wish I could see the whole thing on this subject.

  • If you're going to change the sample that much and "pad" it and "change the tone" and everything, would it not be easier to stop all the arguing and make the sound you want yourself?

    silly.

  • ...if u're uzin' someone else's music, it's not yorz no matter what u do 2 it so- ...

  • this is good, Hankshocklee's the master of manipulating a sample

  • Hey FMC,

Why don't you post more conference vids?

Please note the imperfect sound here ...

Anyway, please post lots more. Help your cause!
