@xmeda If you are trying to grab a fast shot and the lens takes half a second to focus from one end to the other... you've missed it. The Canon is virtually instant.
Also, if you are standing behind someone at a wedding ceremony trying to shoot over their shoulder, I dont think they're going to appreciate the constant whirring noises as you try to find the ultimate composition!

honestly, who cares about the noise?
As long as you´re not doing wildlife, it doesnt matter. When doing video, you´re using the manual-focus anyway, so whats the fuss all about?
The speed is a LOT more important than the noise. But yeah, thats just me, using his camera for taking pictures, and not using is as an extension for his penis, to show everybody how quiet is it :P
