Immigrants have always played an important role in Europe, regarding science, medicine, technology, economy, arts and culture, human and social rigths, sports. In fact, some of them became remarkable citizens throughout history, in their nation of adoptance.
International migrant population in Europe were nearly 42 million people - accounting 9% of the EU27 population - in the year 2005. (United Nations -- Dep. Of Economic and Social Affairs)
In the recent years, those immigrants accounted for more than 75% of the population growth in European Union.
Without aditional immigration, the European Union will decline 139 million people by the year 2050; projecting a medium raise on immigrants each year, the EU population will still decrease 96 million. (World population Prospects, UN, 2003).
Oh let us not forget the Tatar/Mongol immigration and all its wonders, and the Turk, Berber, and the recent Jewish migration to Palestine, Yes immigration has contributed so much. Do not listen to this propaganda! Europe is our ancestral land, Europe is for European peoples!
