  • What does the vertical cylinder nearest to the flywheel do, please?

  • L. Gardner and sons 4T5 hot bulb semidiesel 2 stroke engine. 4 cylinder

  • It is semi-diesel with pre-heating torches built into the heads for the hot tubes. It's in the anson engine museum, (see google); still photos only. It's very interesting to see the intake valve flap cycling on the right most cylinder where the cover has been removed for the video.

  • I'm saying that because it sounds more like an actual diesel engine than a hot-bulb engine.

  • Is this the one with inlet ports/ transfer ports all round cylinder at BDC with exhaust ports above each inlet, using a piston with a kind of point on top, a different type of loop scavenge?
