Once you join the Thieves Guild, just go around and pickpocket everyone in Riften, even the guards. Start with small objects like gold, garnets, etc. When you get caught, wait for a guard to approach you and say you've committed a crime, but instead of paying your bounty and going to jail, say you're with the guild and only pay 12 gold (; AND you can pickpocket the same person over and over again until you get that item.

@jabberman3000 I don't know about that. Actually in Skyrim aren't Khajiits and Argonians the most discriminated against races? I find that pretty stupid.

my Lydia died because I saw her in my room and with her clothes on and she wasn't in the kitchen so I stabbed her

Thats definetly not the best way to level up pickpocketing since you can easily get lvl70 pickpocket + lvl50 marksman just training and pickpocketing your money right back at the very first time you arrive @ rivewood from that elf that allows you to train marksman.
