Footage showing how effective attaching cable ties to a helmet can be in preventing magpies from hitting the helmet. They still swoop but don't peck.

  • Good footage. I just put a few on my helmet so good to see it stops them from landing. Thanks for posting

  • Firstly, had this been riding with speed faster than walking, eg 30kph birds are NEVER an issue, secondly who the hell puts their bike on such a low gear, for such level terrain! your peddling 5 times more than you should be on a higher gear. Some people seriously dont know how to ride a bike, and dont get me started on someone using a MOUNTAIN bike on a suburban street etc, ever heard of a road bike or the ugly hybrid?

  • I saw in a different video that you can stop the swooping altogether if you put cover your helmet with something to make it non-reflective, like some cloth.

  • So not at all effective then.
