  • Now that's a great idea! Many thanks for uploading this. One thing: do you use anything to protect the surface i.e. clear coat, metal varnish, etc..? I mean it will got with time, right? I've got a '94 Magna and was either considering going mate black of posilh

  • I think some have used clear coat after polishing, but I didn't.

I find that after getting the pits out, that just keeping them clean by polishing them lightly with Mother's metal polish using a microfiber cloth works. Nothing like the work shown in the video. I'm talking about a few minutes on each wheel with the bike on a lift, a few times each summer.

The climate is dry here, so we don't get the pitting that those living on the coast, or eastern US see.

  • the only budget way to make wheel spin - rise whole car start engine and leave it on gear... Your idea is just much better! thank you man!

  • Not really my idea. I just put it to video.

  • thats awesome...do you think theres a method where you dont have to remove the tire?

Maybe the bike on a stand while rotating the tire?

  • Yeah, I guess you could put it on a stand and do something similar, but it would be hard to get the whole wheel. And, unless you had a stand that would get the wheels chest high, you'd be sitting on the floor to do the work.

  • Nice way to polish

  • Why not just use a polishing head on a cheap drill? ie. spin the polishing compound not the wheel.
