Hi, I am taking Dobro lessons from The great Curtis Burch. I try to watch all the video I can of others playing to help me with my playing which is at the neophyte level . Have been playing rhythm guitar for 40 years. Playing Dobro is a different ballgame. Thanks for posting these.

I'm an Evanston resident and lifetime Chicagoan...recently interested in folk/gospel through a band I play in...the Wailen Mahalins...can a guitarist with years of training be proficient in Dobro?

the short answer is...absolutely. The long answer is that all depends! technique wise, previous experience in fingerpicking goes a long way on dobro. Learning to play with good intonation and getting the right feel with the bar just takes time...
Hope this helps!

Thanks! This was meant as a demonstration of a very simple arrangement for a group class that I teach at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. I wanted to make it as simple as possible; just to get the feel of the tune for anyone who is new to the dobro.
Regards,
