  • lefty pinko? He's conservative.

  • Goes to show terms such as "left" and "conservative" hardly have any meaning any more.

If the powers behind the scenes have a political ideology, it is one of despotism - all they really want is more power and more wealth. Any sane person, be it Left, Right, Up or Down, is opposed to that.

  • those pictures are like an arrow through my heart....the women and children so brutalized......I long for the day when the NIGHTMARE comes to an end....

  • @Suprkit He was middle of the road, but his policies and beliefs are called dynamic conservatism. He didnt want to get rid of the New Deal, neither did Reagan who said that on numerous occasions. A synonym for conservative is moderate. Eisenhower deregulated the economy, balanced the budget, overthrew elected governments in the name of anti-communism and was criticized by the media for bringing religion into his politics.

  • @Willredd94 President Eisenhower was a "Middle-of-the-roader". He supported Anti-communist efforts in other nations, but not the witch hunts of Sen. McCarthy and did not "want to get down into the gutter with that guy". He signed the Kerr-Mills Bill(pre-Medicare) in 1960. He did little to undo the New Deal/Fair Deal policies. He created HEW. He was not a Reagan,Goldwater,Taft,or Bush 43 type of "Christian conservative".He may have been slightly, but I wouldn't view him in that light.

  • @Suprkit Eisenhower was a conservative, he coined the phrase "dynamic conservatism" and that was his ideology. He believed in a free market economy and did little to hinder hinder business through regulation, he believed in balanced budget, he believed in supporting anti-communist forces abroad. Eisenhower was a great man who once said "Our government makes no sense unless it

is founded on a deeply held religious belief"

  • @Suprkit Yeah by todays standards he'd be moderate almost socialist on some issues.

  • R.I.P. Chalmers Johnson...

"Well, when I get new information, I rethink my position. What, sir, do you do with new information?"

-British Economist John Maynard Keynes when once accused of being inconsistent.

  • The original coining: the military, industrial, Congressional complex. Truer today than in January 1961.

  • 'Alert and knowledgeable citizen' PMSL

  • Dwight Eisenhower was NOT a Conservative. Not even close.

  • The last true Conservative American president, the rest have just been demagogues
