Smart Sion residents trounce conmen in game of chor police

Trap fraudsters who poses as CID cops to extort money.Quick thinking by two Dharavi residents led to the arrest of four conmen last night. The fraudsters, who were arrested at around 11 pm, would often extort money from people posing as CID officials.
As the four men, posing as cops, had already extorted Rs 13,000 from him on November 2, Mubarak Ali (33), who runs a leather bags business, smelt a rat when Akhilesh Thakur, Rashid Patel, Deepak Thackeray and Kanishk Singh showed up at his residence last evening, asking for more money.
Ali, immediately called his friend Amarjeet Barun (30), informing him that the 'CID' were back, but he found their behaviour suspicious.Good move: Mubarak Ali.After receiving the call, Barun, who has a business of aluminum goods nearby, came over and he began questioning the impersonators.
