  • I had the idea of making something like this about 20 years ago. I always thought that having pedal power with electric assist was the answer to really getting around. The real challenge is not getting hit by cars. Sharing the road is my biggest concern.

  • can the passenger-cabin be heat up?

  • This little velomobile is JUST as expensive as Chevrolet Spark. Around $10,000. They're charging too much money for a little velomobile that costs over $8000. They need to make velomobiles cheaper, otherwise, no one will buy them.

  • @Nudelsalatbomber Yes, by pedalling... and then your biggest problem is cooling down :)

  • geee, you went 17 feeet

  • @JaleelJohanson62 We're all the same humans. Behaviour is likely to be similarly considerate or inconsiderate regardless of the mode of transport the particular human is using at the time. ;)

  • @CyclingMikey I've got over 12,000 miles on my bicycle so I have some experience. There are a lot of car drivers who don't think bicycles have a right to be on the road at all and as a result are either woefully ignorant of the traffic laws concerning bicycles or just don't care. There are also bicyclists who have no regard for traffic laws. I'd estimate that a higher proportion of bicyclists break the rules and the reason why is that they can do so with impunity.

  • Now that is the coolest thing I have ever seen when it comes to trikes!!! I wish I could make mine like that but I don't have a 26' in the back. It's actually the smaller one so it wouldn't even go that fast :(

  • Wouldn't ya just love to go up to one of these guys and sellotape the fucker in!......

  • @conspiracy777 eventully the road will no longer have huge cars since gas will always be going up

  • @TheBbergner86 Oh, and don't call them accidents. They are collisions, because someone is to blame and it's very offensive to the victim(s) to call it an accident when their injury/death is the result of someone's carelessness.

Do you agree motorists need to follow ALL the laws? Or just some of them? I hope you're not trying to suggest motorists are more law abiding than cyclists, because that would be rubbish.

  • @TheBbergner86 No, cyclists don't need insurance - the law does not require this. I don't know of any country where cyclists are required to have insurance. That said, I have insurance, as do many cyclists as part of bicycle organisation membership or on home insurance. Whilst sometimes cyclists are at fault in collisions, the vast majority of the time it's motorists who are to blame. Around 80-90% of the time, according to two studies.
