New cordwood wall. The mortar is still dark in the newest part of the cordwood wall. It'll lighten up within the next week.

  • Does the wood eventaully dry and shrink? Any cracking problems? You have done an amazing lot of work, but I can see it's worth it!

    the wood is dry before you put it up....and I did test mortar mixes to make sure the cracking was at the minimum. The cordwood was salvaged for free, from a large cut-off pile at a local post manufacturing/lumber yard. They use kiln dried wood for their post...

  • Wow, you've done a lot since your last video posting.  Your hard work is paying off. The room looks great and I love all the artistic touches...especially the tree in the wall.
