This is matam its the sunnah of one of the greatest lady of islam to potray our grief for the holy progeny. Hence mataam is a sunnah. yes shirk is one of the greatest sins..however shias DONOT consider I.Ali (a.s) as god...they just pray as in "for the sake of .." to Allah.
we aare all muslims..we believe in Allah we believe in the Quran we believe in the kaaba we belive in the holy prophet we pray 5 times a day then why are we not united?
if we put our diff aside no one will be able to stop us.

reading at different comments makes me think that no wonder there is no unity in the muslim community and we are being over ruled by kuffar today.tbh if we believe in one God Allah, one book Quran and one Prophet (S.A.W) then we are muslims and personally i don't believe in shia sunni concept because we are muslims!!
