  • I could not get the meaning (I am not an American nor a nativeEnglish-speaking person). Yet this song is amazing due to the power and strenght, energy that Melanie sends or "radiates" beyond words. That is her intention and sincerity which make this song a real masterpiece, on top of the words ans music. Great ! Beyonce and co can take lessons ..;

  • @romeohaitjuliette Well said. I was a "Melanie" lover, but BoBo's Party and "Born to Be" in general always remained my favorite. I'm the only one I know who HAS about 15 of her albums and three or four CD's. I STILL

    think she is, like you wrote "Superb." Thank you!

  • @mugshot4 I have ALL of her albums, or at least about 15 :) When I first heard this album I was broken hearted. I went home to Long Island. Eventually I went back to L.A. for a wedding and the "boy" who had broken my heart came to the airport to meet me (?). I don't know why but I went back to his apartment and he had his

    wall "decorated" with Animal Cracker boxes!!! True love prevailed because of Melanie ... : )

  • @jsyount Not a whole lot of people even KNOW Melanie. I have every one of her albums and got to see her once at The Troubador in Los Angeles. Your comment is just SO beautiful! Thank you!

  • Totally forgot about this track. Brilliant!!

  • great to hear this again. Friend of mine bought this single in France in 1970, I borrowed it n played it constantly , Mr Tambourine Man on the B side.

    Thanks for uploading, brings back some happy memories.

  • Superbe !
