The theme we were all given for this year was simply "imagine..."
We knew everyone would be coming up with positive "imagine the future!" or "life without X bad thing!" and other hopeful ideas. Our first thought was to do the exact opposite and instead have a sad but powerful message. Child abuse was a semi-taboo topic at our age, so we went with that.
It actually took a lot of effort just to get the rights to use this music. It's taken from the 1998 PC game by Sierra called "Starsiege." Somewhere, I have a letter from Sierra stating they would have no problem if I used some of their music in a short film that wouldn't be sold for profit. Quite an achievement for a middle school kid.

Such a shocking video. The sad reality is that things like this do happen. Don't forget it is everyones job to ensure children are all right. Not just the professionals and parents. EVERYONE
