My 13 gallon aquarium. I recorded this as I was fascinated how the Hillstream Loach eats. Also, it will serve to keep track of the corydoras barbel regrowth as their barbels were torn off by my Siamese Algae Eater.

In my experience, the substrate I used (riversand and coral) did not have an effect on the barbels.

Another is that an LFS here in Baguio used corals as substrate yet no signs of barbel erosion.

  • OMG, kinguios and neons???

  • @Juan22450 not sure what kinguios means...

  • Oh wait, the guppies just bred there. The current state of the tank are just cories.

  • Yup! Don't worry, I donated the other fish.

  • Hmm... not really. They died because of the power outage. And again, I maintain my tank with regular water changes of twice a week. I do agree with you that it is small.

  • I maintain a schedule of water changes twice a week. Also, the plants are helping in maintaining balance on my tank. Guppies are removed and the current death toll is the Hillstream Loach (because of power outage)

  • OMG. goldfishes and neons??

  • @bluefrancis14 Kinguios are the goldfishes!

I was surprised because the fish are very incompatible, goldifshes are pH very alkaline and cold temperature, as neons are stupidly phs acids and very high temperatures.

  • loach loverrrr!!1 :]

  • You should remove the goldfish dude. I mean the rest are tropical fish. Your fancy goldfish are coldwater fish. So... in such a tank, the lifespan of ur goldfish would shorten. Thats kinda mean to the goldfishes...

  • Holy shit you have WAY too many fish for a thirteen gallon!

I saw like 7 corys and buncha ottos some neon tetras 2 Fancy goldfish, which need like 30 gallons, And a shit ton of guppies! That wouldn't even fit in a 40 gallon dude!

  • tank being too small is a problem. Also doing a water change twice a week is completely unnecessary and not a good thing for the fish either. You either have too many fish or feed them too much. The longer you can get away with not changing the water the better because water changes add stress on the fish. i can go 2 weeks without changing the water and my tank still wont be as dirty as yours.
