Liz Matthews Returns; Mac's Thanksgiving Toast, 1987

The Corys, including Mac's nephew Adam, and Jamie's girlfriend Lisa Grady, have gathered at the mansion with Mac, Rachel, Ada, Matthew, and Amanda for Thanksgiving, which Mac says is going to be marvelous. Rachel asks Mac what is going on. Mac tells Adam to pop the champagne and pour an extra glass and put it right there in the center of the room, because Mac has a surprise. Ada guesses that a ghost is coming to dinner. Mac says no, this person is very much alive. Rachel excitedly asks who it is, but all Mac will give is hints: it's someone they've missed enormously, both at home and at the Cory Complex, someone who keeps them on their toes and keeps them laughing, someone they would never want to leave again. Just as Adam pops the cork on the champagne bottle, Liz Matthews walks in. Ada asks if she's there to stay, and Liz replies that someone has to help Ada boss the Corys around. Rachel welcomes Liz home and gives her a big hug, and Liz says she's missed everyone very much. Amanda joins the family and is reunited with Aunt Liz. Mac announces it's time for the toast. Amanda asks if she can have some champagne, and Rachel tells her that has to be her decision. Mac then delivers the toast, which concludes with everyone toasting to the future.
