This HD video features a highly athletic and original performance by a Zimbabwean nyau dancer. Nyau functions as a competitive dancing league, with teams of young men drawn from workers on Zimbabwe commercial farms in one particular region. It's generally performed fireside and accompanied by one or more drummers. Dancers alternate betweeen members of the home and away teams members, each in his unique personal costume representing a tongue-in-cheek depiction of a Shona woman. So basically it's a drag show where the winning dancer and team are chosen by audience reaction and tips.
