This is my interpretation of the Ramayan written by Valmeeki. My version is entitled A Son, A Prince, A Husband, A King: Ramayan, an Interpretation. I have written it in English and in verse - aimed at children aged 11+. It covers the complete story of Raam, from his birth, through his separation with Seeta, to his death. It is approximately 70,000 words in total.
The Ramayan is an ancient story and is sacred in Hindu religion. It is the story of Prince Raam, Princess Seeta, and the Asura king Raavan and is celebrated on Diwali (also known as the Hindu Festival of Lights).
My version is pitched primarily at 11-16 year olds as there are very few complete versions available for this age group. The Ramayan is more than a just a story of lust and valour, it is a story of morality, duty and sacrifice.
I am currently approaching publishers to consider my work. I would also appreciate your feedback.
I have placed the first chapter of my book Baal Kand (which translates as Book of Childhood) onto You Tube. It comes in four parts: the circumstances which required the need for an Avatar (Raam), his birth and childhood, his youth and adventures and his marriage (to Seeta).
Thank you

It has been very encouraging to see my view counter ticking-up over the past few months. I hope you have enjoyed my story.
Just to update you, my book is finally complete! It has taken 7 years to get here and it seems nicely-timed with the season of festivals approaching!
I wish you all a very happy celebration and a very Happy Dewali. May your special days be colourful and bright!
