@MrUSA96 you'd have to send it out to Springfield or have a gunsmith dovetail the slide to put different sights on it.

just buy a colt barrel for it. the series 70 barrel would be what you want. should drop right in. i bought one directly from colt and it dropped right into my gun, no fitting.

dude where did you find that for $550? i live in MI and everywhere i look they want damn near a fuckin grand for it. im lookin fo my first handgun and i know that the 1911 is without contest the best place to start. with the GI model being the simplist. plus to be honest im a bit of a gun nut and you eally cant call youself a collector without a 1911 can you?
