  • Came accross this vid by accident. I show horses in the U.K. also practice

Parelli and into classical riding. However, I have never seen a gait like this - It is just not seen over here. It is somewhere between a walk and a trot, so how is the horse trained to maintain this gait? Interested.

  • Hello. The gait is called an amble or 4-beat gait. The gait comes naturally if the breeding is right so not much if any training is required. You can learn more about the breed on the registration website rmhorse.com

  • Try riding this horse in a bitless bridle and without spurs. My reg. RMH goes beautifully without a bit and without spurs.

  • Hello,

I don't ever use spurs...I've found these Rocky's just don't need them. I've used a bitless bridle. I've had a lot of success just using a Parelli halter vs. any other type of headset. The first 30 days of training are only done with the Parelli halter and then I always use a bit after that. Because I sell horses, my horses have to be well rounded as their new owners don't always subscribe to the same phylosophies that we do. Thanks for posting a comment.

  • It goes by a number of names, 4-beat gait, amble, running walk. It's smooth!

  • Thank you for your reply. I understand how you have to train for selling horses and how it has to be according to prevailing desires of the new owners!

  • Beautiful horse. What is that gait called?
