The reason of down shifting this way is carburettor setup (amount of unblown fuel in engine) and brake balance that u need dependently on the corner you are entering (engine braking). Plus engine braking is imitating something like ABS especially in the rain or slipper - brake pressure is not constans than so u avoiding block. And you don't care about the engine if its the last training before quali on which later you are setting the fastest track lap time in this category on this type of tires.

@josefkalis interesting. Why has it to be done nowadays? What is the benefit of shifting in high rpms? Is it additional engine brake? Thanks

Look like a very fun track!!
Great driving!

i bet you have max rpm 14.000 while shifting high, and 17.000 while shifting down ^^ ;)

@MaaaaxX09 totaly agree
for the shifting issue ... you know professional kart racing drivers got more than 1 or 2 engines for a weekend ?
so... give a f*ck to high downshift rpms ...

@g3mb0 yes downshifting in high rpms has to be done nowadays - thats why we use 2 engines for a weekend - one for training and as a backup and second for the race (we change conrod and bearing every 10 hours)
