Don't try to have coolness for the sake of it. Take a look at Apple - they use effects to improve experience, not just to have them. You click an option button, new options slide down. A new option window comes from the window title to show which program is it's parent. This si the way to develop.

I hope this will never get used, cause effects are not the same as the UI structure, and so compiz/beryl should do the reflections, not a gtk+-widget
