people stop comparing it with the D3s. get a D3s if u want an SLR. the M9 is a rangefinder and u use manual lenses.

@Smalskin cause if you want one when they first come out you have to be on a waiting list,otherwise you can wait until they're selling them on ebay and amazon.

People STOP comparing it to Japoo Slr's they are not the same things!! Doing that is as Idiotic as saying that a Scania truck is better then a Rolls-roys coz its Cheaper and more powerful !!
ya slr's have there proposes but you dont buy a leica M9 for that ! learn about Photography do a bit of online research hopefully u'll get the point!

I have no money to buy it, but it does not seem too costly. How much do you think that costs for example, any musical instrument like a flute concerto, a cello, a violin, etc? For me it is the same. If you do not know how to use it, not buy it!

@ndragos87 A 550D is not even a full frame camera and the quality of the pictures will not even come close to the M9 even with an L lens!!
Clearly you are a NOOB!!

a 550d is way better than the m9,and with the extra 4000 you can buy L lens and some nice accessories

@SLRist true...but its the same for any pro digital body...for myself as a professional its just the price of doing business. I'm sure next up for Leica will be improved High ISO specs, closer to D3s specs...with D3s ISO specs the M9 would simply dominate in low light photography...should have done that with the M9...maybe Contax has something up their sleeve for a "G3D": 21MP with killer High ISO specs...having a zooming viewfinder would be nice..but what about all those M lenses I have?

Of course not, but I bought my own M9 as I put my name on a list 2 months before the announcement with my dealer. I took delivery of my M9 around October 7th.
