Jigging is fun, active and eventful! Zander are pursued with jigs in bay waters, shallows and slow-flowing sounds at a couple of metres early in the season and at the edges of mid-lake shallows and rocky areas in summer. The range of jigs available is extensive, but the most popular lures are 3.5--4.5-inch grub jigs. Fish jigs produce results in late summer in particular. The weight of the right jig head to use varies considerably. You can use just 5-gram heads in 2-to-3-metre waters, whereas 7 to 14 grams is a good range for deep, 5-to-10-metre waters and 16 to 25 grams work in deep and flowing waters. The best zander stocks can be found in the muddy and brownish lakes of Southern and Central Finland, although many of the more limpid lakes have quite good stocks too. http://www.visitfinland.com/fishing
