The hotel and country club complex at Montecastillo is truly magnificent. Originally the site of a 19th century castle ruin, it was bought by a wealthy sherry family and re-developed in its current style incorporating the five-star Barcelo hotel - a Golf de la Luz partner hotel.
Theres plenty of room for practice or a quick lesson before your round with a large covered driving range, chipping green, practice bunkers and putting area.
Montecastillo is next to the famous Circuito de Jerez motor racing circuit. If you are looking for a quiet round of golf, it is best to avoid the area in late March as the world-famous Moto GP comes to town - doubling the population of Jerez and the surrounding area!
There are few courses with greater heritage than Montecastillo in the whole of Spain. It is one of a handful of Jack Nicklaus designed courses in the region and has hosted numerous leading pro events including the Volvo Masters. It has stood the test of time as a stern but fair test of golf and often gets rave reviews from Golf de la Luz clients.
