@Discoboy504 thank you. you sir are the only one that actually has some sense. smokers always get discriminated for absolute nonsense, and non smokers act as if though they're generally a better person because they don't smoke. human beings are so full of self righteous shit, and u made an excellent point. Our world is too polluted and not from cigarette smoke alone, so it doesn't matter what we do. factories, buses, cars, all of those produce smoke and causes health risks

All non smokers should give up their cars to show how concerned they are for the health of others. After all children are breathing in the exhaust fumes that the millions of cars and trucks driven by non smokers spew out every day and night. How can they be so insensitive??

I keep hearing these nonsmokers talking about how they get infections from smoke and other unpleasent things....smokers dont get these things like that and they are not only around it all the time they are also smoking it too...lol, sounds like the smokers have the right idea, healther immune systems, noy nearly the infections nonsmokers complain about, hehehehe

Ive had to miss out on things that were fun because they were for the smokers only. I use to play pool a lot until I kept having to go to the doctor because of sinus infections. Three sinus in a row in less than 6 months time made it more than clear that I just couldnt enjoy what I loved. My doctor said no places with smoke. I went into a grocery store where someone was smoking and ended up with asthma. I just want to be able to enjoy places like other people; unfortunately I cant with smoke.
I understand what you are saying. I feel bad that you feel you cannot enjoy going out. You can always open your own pool hall and not allow smoking in there. You can also buy a pool table and have parties. I am sure you don't allow smoking in your house. The fact is when the smoking ban happened in Ohio, bars lost business. Some even closed down. The reason there is an empty chair as the "non smoker" interview is because there wasn't a non smoker in the bar. We were there for hours too!

I understand your frustration, but there is another solution that will not take smokers rights away and can make you a ton of money. Open your own pool hall and don't allow smoking. There was one here in Massillon, Ohio for a long time. It was full of kids most of the time because they didn't serve alcohol or allow smoking and most pool players smoke and drink and would rather go to a bar that had alcohol and allowed smoking.

Unfortunately in Ohio, now nobody is enjoying those types of places. I knew a lot of non smokers that said they would be out every night once the smoking ban took effect. They do not come out even as much as they did before the ban. It is because nobody wants to come out and have to go outside to smoke. In the summer it isn't bad, but in the winter it is too cold to stand outside and smoke. Consequently not as many people go out to the bars and when they do, they spend less time there.

I understand that people have rights though sometimes I wonder if that includes me. If someone pulls a lighter from his pocket Ill walk away but Ive had smokers come over near me and light up in my face. I go to smoke free restaurants and there are people standing in the doorway smoking. I cant play pool or bowl because that involves smoking as well. I just want somewhere to go where I can have fun. I have to breathe or Im not having fun. Rights work both ways.

I am sorry to hear of your aversion to smoking. I do believe that smoking in restaurants can be annoying, but I also believe it should be up to the owner of the establishment to decide whether he or she wants smoking there. All bars have seen a huge loss in business since the ban. Many have even closed down. I don't think smokers or non smokers need to see that about now.
