  • Thanks for the kind comment. In the end it's just pure logic and simple math.

  • Don't forget to check out the article on the product page called: "How-to align your text", that is the correct method and then this can be used in addition to that if needed. This tip was created before Custom Grid System feature in 2.0 was added.

  • A smart way of creating the leading is to start with a base value that multiplies itself. For example if the baseline value is 6,25 pt - you have 5 pt of type on it. Then you can have the leading x 2 = 12,5 pt with a text of maybe 10-11 pt.

This is done by setting up different paragraph styles.

The document grid and baseline grid are slightly different set.

    Cmd+K > Grids:

Baseline Grid > Increment Every: 6,25 pt

Vertical > GridLine Every 12,5 pt

    Good luck!

  • @mychalsimonz So true "Clean design" is a great way to put it. :)

  • Man! I love love love this tip. This tip is what made me decide to buy Grid Calculator. Its made life so much easier in designing my Christian male magazine. This is my first magazine and its looking like veteran designers were in the room. Thanks so much for creating Grid Calculator Pro. Please let me know of any upgrades in the future. - Also the purchase process was easy and painless.

  • I love it. So many designers fail to understand the importance of what I like to call "Clean" design. this tip has made it easier to make your design much cleaner and faster . Thank you I will be purchasing this software as well.

  • Great tutorial. Thanks for posting. One day, I'll be able to afford Grid Calculator. I already tried the trial and really liked it. Smart plugin!
