A short video of Rob Cowling's Mitsubishi Evo 7 GSR, built + mapped by CPR - Car Planet Racing.

This car was built around 2 years ago, and we filmed the final power run after re-mapping on Sunoco 109 GT Plus Race Fuel (supplied by Anglo American Oils)

The Specification;

CPR 2.4L Stroker Kit - 4G63 Block
Precision SC61 Turbocharger
CPR Exhaust Manifold
Turbosmart 48mm Wastegate
Tial Blow off Valve
AEM EMS Full Standalone ECU
CPR Bosch 044 Fuel Pump Kit
1000cc Injectors
CPR 3" Straight Through Exhaust
CPR Plenum w/Q45 T/B
Piper Cams + Vernier Pulleys
HKS Type R Intercooler Core

This car was built by CPR, and originally spec'd at a comfortable 500hp, but the car easily produced 620hp recently on PUMP GAS!!!!!

Rob asked us to run the car on Race Fuel for TOTB, and we installed switchable maps.

CPR Head Dyno Engineer; Andy Clark has mapped the car now to high boost and low boost settings (2.3bar and 2.0bar respectively).

at 2.3bar, the car produced 541.4HP at the wheels, as recorded on our in-house Dyno Dynamics 4 Wheel Rolling Road, ran in Shoot_44 Mode.

with 24% Transmission Loss, that is around 712hp at the flywheel.

Torque is over 620lbft @ 5000 rpm.

  • to zoso11,

when we perform power runs on our dyno, for Evo's, we enter the dyno software in ' Shoot_44' mode. When we run the car in power run mode, the dyno will allow a pre-determined ramp rate, against which it will calculate the power of the car. When we run the cars, we are actually do floor it, and the dyno does the rest.
