@steve02ev I didn't used direct tap water. I had a gallon water container which I filled with tap water and I left out in the sun for a day or more. Then I used those water to water all of my container plants. This helps remove the chlorine. Also some of my water containers seems to have 'algae' forming in the bottle, the plants love it!!

@owendargatz21 Hi! Sorry for the late reply. :) I don't use potting soil. I use a mixture of top soil and organic compost. They come in huge bags and cheaper in price, too. :)
