More than 1,500 residents of the city of Simi Valley Ca turned out to rally and march against the firing of hundreds of it's public school teachers due to the State budget cuts. The protesters were teachers, students young and old, grandparents and their grandchildren and concerned citizens. It was a peaceful rally and hopefully helped to educate those citizens who were unaware of the harsh impact these budget cuts will have on our schools and our children's quality of education.
So that means that less than a third of the total budget gets to the classroom!!! Besides, the Gov. is NOT going to "cut the budget", he is merely going to reduce the proposed increases for the schools. Sorry but in economic times like this, things NEED to be shaved back a tad!!! It's not about the kids tothese people, it's just about themselves!!!!
Sorry, but you CAN'T keep coming back to the taxpayers for even MORE money!! Sooner or later it's just going to run out...then what??

These teachers need to shut thier traps and stop complaining!!! The layoffs wouldn't happen for at least 6 months if at all! The teachers are the HIGHEST paid in the country, yet there is a 50% drop-out rate in LAUSD!!! Lastly, there has been a 7% reduction in enrollment in the schools, yet there hs only been a 1% reduction in the teachers!! Over 65% ofthe states budget goes to education, and over 60% of that goes to just the pay for teachers and Administrators..........
