I said, Ooh babe, where ya been?
You bring back the feeling
The flavor of damp teenage skin
and hot afternoons by the river
spent crushing the clover
I said 'Lie down, roll over
I wanna go back there again'
Ooh baby, sweet Fassbinder lady
Where ya been?

This was the first time multiple television screens were combined to form one giant image, aka the "megatron." Waters was frustrated with the inability to project images entirely across the wall during THE WALL TOUR in 80-81, so he used this new technology for the slot machine affect during this 84-85 tour. Once again, Floyd changed the way we see concerts and well, how we use technology for mass spectacle.

I saw this in Chicago in 1984. Was am amazing performance. I wish he would release some of this if not all on dvd.

@RobertLichter Thanks for sharing. I read the open letter and you know what? I saw Roger on "The Wall" tour last year and he didn't use any vocal tracks at all. The singing was all his own voice. He just lowered the keys of "One Of My Turns" and "Run Like Hell" so they would be easier for him to sing and they sounded great.

@MidwestMidnight thankyou man, i always wanted to know the extra
lyrics that i missed in this live song. i knew most of them but a couple of words

@RobertLichter Going to see Roger tonight in Philly. 8th row center. Don't think he's faking anything this time around!!!!!!!!!

This song is awesome: the lyrics, the vocals, and the music. This is SO much more advanced than anything David Gilmour could dream up.

@RobertLichter Check out this clip:

977#p/search/1/JHDhjTg-U-U It's from the same tour and he clearly isn't lip synching. I can hear a backing track, but he's singing. I think he was having problems with his voice on this particular night. Regardless, we all know he can't sing like he used to. I'm just glad he's still touring after all these years.

Respond to this video...True, he could do a scaled version of his songs and sing them differently, ala Dylan, but most people want to hear the songs the way they remember them from the album. I don't hold it against him. You'd be surprised how many artist do this. Maybe he lost his voice and didn't want to cancel shows?

@RobertLichter It depends on your definition of limited. Every singer is limited in one sense or another. Anyway, I do hear some vocal assistance at times, but who cares. Roger and Pink Floyd are studio musicians. It's impossible to replicate live what they did in the studio and still sound authentic.

@RobertLichter CLARIFICATION: I jsut want to mention that I do NOT think he lip synced this entire song. I am only referring to the first 1:07 or so. The quieter parts, I believe are live singing. The first part of this song (and others) is clearly a tape.
Houston, TX: Mr. Ron Toon, do you have more of this concert to post? I missed this concert in Houston ( March 1985). Very enjoyable for me to see this.
