Dude they got a hold of Eddie Bunker and a number of people who worked on actually producing the film and getting it released. Just 'cause they didn't get the actors themselves doesn't discredit what the producers have to say about the film.
And yes they have some odd choices of interviewees, but they do that all the time. Hell, in the "Once Upon a Time in America" documentary they interview Tarantino despite him having nothing to do with Leone except always referencing his work.

i hate how they interview a bunch of people that have NOTHING to do with the film or it's production/distribution. judy tenuta? julie strain? are you kidding me?
