Remarkable Current - Nurul Iman Islamic Boarding School Indonesia - Hey Joe

This was a piece we put together during the sound check at the Hard Rock Cafe the night before. Our guitar player started playing the licks to 'Hey Joe' by Jimi Hendrix and I was moved by the passion he spilled into them even though it was just his warm up. I asked the guys in the band if they were cool trying to find some parts to go along with that riff and they agreed. We altered the lyrics to this one to suit the environment we were in...
18,000 kids at a Islamic Boarding School in the middle of the jungle 2 hours outside of Jakarta.
We were told initially we would be doing a workshop for about 200 kids but once we got to the spot and hit it off with the director Habeeb Saggaf he decided to invite every kid in his school and the villagers from the surrounding area. This was probably the greatest moment of out tour there and maybe one of the greatest moments of our lives. None of us had ever felt so much unconditional love shining through all language, culture, and national barriers.
