@beachedwhale230 Progressive metal has these kind of vocals to match the intensity of the music. Have you ever heard this kind of music next to some guy singing like fucking Nickelback? Well it sounds fucking TERRIBLE! This guy is actually very talented so don't come in here and bash on a Great band. Go listen to your lame progressive rock and leave the man's music alone.

@MylifeisSWELL I already stated that I meant to say ALTERNATIVE rock was lame, not progressive. Bands like Nickelback and Kings of Leon. I know the genre wouldn't exist without bands like Rush or Pink Floyd, It was never my intention to discredit these bands I just wanted to defend the vocal style of the band.

@Bret3333 1.Without "lame progressive rock" you wouldn't have Progressive Metal. 2. Not all Prog Metal has harsh vocals 3. As much as I love AtB the only real progressive element about them is polyrhythms. 4. Really people this is a top comment? come on!

God damn. I read a lot of the comments on here and people seriously are retarded. They dig too deep into the music saying it sucks because the "song anatomy" is too repetitive (says michaelspants). That's just fuckin' queer. Just listen to the damn music man. If you don't like it, stfu and gtfo. Simple as that.

@Bret3333 Well personally I'm not really a fan of labels in music. It's helpful for a record store, but outside that I just listen to what I like and to hell with what someone else labels it.

@WillyWonkaIsSatanic I wasn't bashing on an entire genre. I was talking about the vocals because someone had commented on how it was bad, or something. I didn't bash on progressive rock I said it sounded lame. Also I commented on this 5 months ago honestly I don't really even know what bands classify as progressive rock, I meant to say alternative rock is lame.
