  • Is it me or did anyone else see the old Fantasia come back? She is such an old soul and I love it. I almost went in with her after she sung " Purple Rain " and then went into " Thank You, Lord!" This chic is a vocal beast and yet still young. Whether people like or hate her you can't deny this females talent. She is one in a million and unique as hell. I love that she never tries to be anything but herself. Honestly, what singer in their 20's in the music industry can go head to head with her?

  • she has officially made purple rain a gospel song !! This girl has a serious ministry on her life! I proclaim that one day she will be saved to the utmost and singing for her maker! She already does it anyway!

  • GOD SHE GIVES ME LIFE SING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Okay Tasia let me request again pleaseeeeeeeeee sing Purple Rain at Essence Music Fest 2012

  • @nickivsmith ...You Betta Say That! You know Aretha Franklin dubbed her as the Princess of Soul/R&B and rightfully so. Fantasia, is Amazing!

  • @aprilryals ...Yes she does. Patti Labelle is my all time favorite sanger and I remember the first time I saw Fantasia in concert I thought she is a little Patti but for this generation. She is so energetic and I love how she interacts with the audience when she performs. She brings it everytime. This gurl is ridiculous.

  • @MisterCrazyLegs ...ROFLLMAO...Yet, I so feel where you are coming from. I will take that which is of quality and orginal and feeds my soul than that which is of quantity which will sell alot of units but it's not really what you want or desire. It's watered down, sounds good on the surface but there's no substance.

  • @MisterCrazyLegs ...I agree with you 100%. She most definitely has it. Fantasia, was born to do this. She is the whole package of what a real soul artist is. Don't get me wrong I believe she can sang any genre of music but soul and gospel music is what defines her. There are only a few artist of this generation that stands out to me and she is my top pick. She pulls you in to every performance when she always gives you 150%. She is like you stated, " The BADDEST " chick in the game. Yes, Sir!

  • @aprilryals I agree, the same energyand effort is there. She is cut from the Patti LaBelle mold of old school soul divas who had no choice but to interact with the crowd, back in the day, because they had no gimmicks to hide behind. But when Fantasia "talks" to the crowd, she reminds me more of Shirley Caesar...when Shirley is talking, she's actually preaching. And I hear a lot of that, when Fantasia speaks to the crowd.

  • @educatorpoet when her head is in the right place (and you could tell she was feeling good, here), this girl is the BADDEST chick in the game...note for note, stage presence and ability all considered, there are VERY FEW female vocalists who can go toe to toe with her. She just has a very natural talent for performing. She knows what to say to the crowd..how to say it, and she knows what to do with her voice to make them pay attention. And you cant teach that. U have it or u dont.

  • love this girl's voice...when I hear her voice, I think about fried chicken...whiskey, collard greens...hot, sweaty sex...raw LOVE...black pride...and some kind of "alien element' in her voice, because most human beings cant imagine singing like her. When I hear a Britney Spears, I think about hot dogs, lemonade, apple pie and everything that symbolizes something manufactured and safe. Needless to say, I dont like hot dogs apple pie or lemonade. But I'll take fried chicken and collard greens.

  • When I see this, all I can do is think of Patti Labelle Look to the Rainbow Tour in 1980... She resembles Patti in so many ways, young black and powerful to an extent. Her vocal antics are always on point. Fantasia has a ora of love about her, and her humility is none other than the Legendary Patti Labelle. Vocallly she is unmatched with her contemparies, in her range.
