Male ♂
* Congestion on the Tail is not disease. It happens when the Tail (even Bubble eye's Cornea) grows.
** I am not sure what is that white thing on Head. though These " Lion / Tiger / Mushroom Head " type fish often have this kind of "Pimple" during cold season. but also It happens when the Fish catch a virus or parasites.

The First Breeder who Crossed this Variety was really Great. I feel this variety is bred differently (probably older type) from Common Chinese Oranda type fish. Hon-Azuma ( Original Calico Oranda that was bred 70 years ago in Yokohama. ) still has similar head and face. also I guess Chinese Mushroom head Oranda series have Crown Pearl scale's gene like Suzuki-Azuma.

  • Poor fish, but you're not supposed to touch them... They have a special slime coating that you can ruin making them more vulnerable to bacteria and diseases :(

  • @ravgirl115 You are right. Though It's a common way to treat goldfish. I would rather ask you how to catch them softly and Why You think he was poor? Because it looks strange for you? Even in Japan there are some people who think Chinese goldfish are Grotesque and not so popular. but I respect their long breeding history. If you look Cats and Dogs They also have strange appearances from wildcat or wolf. I think this sense of Beauty or Ugly is just a matter of experience.

  • @ravgirl115 You can touch them, but only if you do not squeeze them. Picking them up gently is okay, because you'll only rub off maybe 1/3 of that part of the slime coat. Being gentle is key. Also, I've had goldfish who jumped out of their tanks and flipped around on the carpet for a bit and were fine after I had to grab them to put them back in the tank.
