@lazyeddie04 You can't use inappropriate language during a legal arbitration. What is declared inappropriate is at the judge's discretion.
Anyways, that shouldn't be said to anyone anywhere.

@atown5792 I didn't know the word "moron" used to be a scientific classification for the mentally handicapped. Well, now I know. And knowing is half the battle. *G.I. Joe music*

@Lighthouse713 While it may be "grammatically" correct it isn't politically correct. People with mental disabilities are no longer referred to as retarded in that same way that they are no longer referred to as morons (which used to be a scientific classification). Regardless, people who have mental illnesses and their family find the word to be offensive and you're a dick if you continue to use it just because YOU don't think it should be offensive.

Isn't this a courtroom? We kinda have the freedom of speech in this country... Judges shouldn't judge character. I find Milian to be completely inappropriate.

well he only problem that i have with this is that it's actually a gramatically and politically correct term. "retarded" means slowed, in thinking or in movement. However, it is not the same as "gay" which in today's world means a honosexual man or woman. however, "gay" is being used INCORRECTLY to mean stupid and is therefore understandably offensive to actual gay people. however, to say that a foolish friend is "retarded" IS correct, it is only that society has made the public think otherwise.

@16MattC i've always felt that if there was no censorship, then no censorship would be necessary. what that means is that if society didn't make the word retard taboo, then no one would think that way. it's society who's telling those who are actually retarded (which IS the scientifically correct term, as it means slowed) that the phrase should be offensive to them, and therefore it is taken that way. "that is so retarded" DOES mean literally, "that is foolish or slow" as opposed to "that's gay"
