  • Extracting and liquefying nitrogen from the air takes quite a bit of energy. Why not opt for shallow grave, shroud-only burials? Morticians can remove and recycle any metal (fillings, joint replacements, pacemakers etc) and without embalming bury you just under the ground (i.e. in the biozone). A reusable metal screen protects remains from scavengers early on.

Special cemeteries already exist for this. They include paths and small stone markers so family and friends can visit.

  • This is a very simplified representation of a procedure/concept that is ingenious. I learned about Promessa and its founder Susanne Wiigh-Masak in Mary Roach's book, "Stiff." It's a must-read for anyone who's curious not only about what happens to people's bodies that are donated to science but also what our options are for the "disposal" of our own bodies after death. I really hope this concept catches on in the U.S. It's definitely the way I'd prefer to live on after death.

  • What a great idea, so gentle and clean. Put my name down for that , and persuade Birmingham City Council to allowed it in the UK

  • FA CACà

  • I love that they plant an apple to eat!!!... I bet many people would like this connotation... I am a little bit disappointed by the fact that the bones remain, cannot one be completely pulverized???

  • I want to be "disposed" of this way, i always have ever since i saw this on the news...
