Speed the Plough is a widely-known folk tune written as a reel in 1799 by Edinburgh-born violinist John Moorehead.
This version is played in F on a GCF diatonic accordion (aka melodeon) made by Oakwood of Leeds.
Speed the Plough is the October 2009 Tune of the Month at http://melodeon.net discussion forum.

  • wonderful - I like the accordion style bases aswell, oom pah-ing along nicely! what lovely combinations you have on the GCF box :)

  • Thanks. This and previous comments much appreciated.

I couldn't play it quite like this on a 2-row of course, or even without a couple of the specials on this box.
