A great ballad recorded around the mid 60's, but never released, until recently, and it's much different from the 1962 version.

  • What fun it is to hear a song for the first time. Could listen to Ricks music all day. It would be fun to hear Nelson sing this song in Ricky Nelson remembered.

  • I had been trying to get this song downloaded for a long time. Now I finally got to hear the whole song and was amazed. Why was this song never recorded? I wish he sang it on the "Show" so I could see the video. It is beautiful!

  • @Christiane373 I'm glad you've got to hear this very warm ballad by Rick! It's a shame the song was never released, Your right, the song is beautiful and I think it would have been a big hit for Rick!!

  • Are you sure the title of this song is "I Need You". Rick Nelson had another song titled, "I Need You", which was released on the flip side of It's Up To You in 1962. It reached #83 on the top 100, and the A side was a top 10. This is not another version of that song, but an entirely different song. Just saying - it's strange to have 2 songs with the same title in that era.

  • Same title,2 different songs.

This song is on Rick's Rarieties, and was never released until Ace Records unearthed it among Rick's catalogue secreted somewhere in the so-called Orange Garage , in Hollywood.

  • Hi MrRickfan - each time I watch this video I wonder why one of the new age artists couldn't find this and record it. It's such a wonderful love song and I feel would appeal to all ages. Of course, Rick's romantic voice makes it special. It's very warm and endearing, and we hear so little of actual romantic songs any more. I do love all the pictures in this video. You've done a really great job with it. Thanks again for posting this treasure. - Paula
